Free Monday Concert featuring Lark & Spur: An Evening in Paris

AARP, Excellence in the Community, Daynes Music, Mike Bachman Plumbing, Peery's Egyptian Theater, and Weber State University are proud to bring you the Free Monday Concert Series.

Lark & Spur, as the name suggests, began as duo when Jeff Whiteley and Lori Decker first performed in the streets, public squares and metro tunnels of Paris, Munich and other European cities. Over time the group added more players, and now performs most often as a quintet or as sextet. Lark & Spur is known for a repertoire that ranges from French folk songs from the Middle Ages, to Celtic tunes, Bossa nova and jazz standards, Broadway songs, to Gypsy Swing. Instrumentation includes acoustic guitars, mandolin, penny whistles, upright bass, percussion, piano, musette, and vocals. Performance credits include the Montreux, Deauville and Brienz Jazz Festivals in Europe; radio and television appearances in France, Utah Symphony events in Salt Lake City, performances at the Stein Erickson Lodge, and at the River Horse in the Park City area. Lark & Spur has 3 CDs that have received air play in France and Scotland.

Jeff Whiteley and Lori Decker are the musicians who started Excellence in the Community. In fact, Excellence in the Community started with a Lark & Spur Christmas concert in 2005.
