Peery's Egyptian Theater

Peery’s Egyptian Theater is a remnant from an era of opulent movie palaces.  The theater is a major asset in the community. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is known internationally.  It is a key player in the growth and development of Ogden’s cultural and entertainment offerings.

Peery's Egyptian Theater's Auditorium

Today, Peery’s Egyptian Theater boasts state-of-the-art technology, including restored atmospheric lighting that resembles a fiery desert sunset evolving into a sparkling star-studded night. The modern stage house design can accommodate live theater, dance, choral, symphonic, and multimedia performances.

Inside Peery's Egyptian Theater

Built in 1924 and designed to replicate the courtyard between two Egyptian temples, the theater represents a time when the discovery of King Tut’s tomb kindled the nation’s interest in Egyptian history.

Located in Beautiful Downtown Ogden

We pride ourselves on having a little something for everyone here in Ogden, Utah. Our rich “mountain to metro” personality derives from a unique balance of downtown Ogden’s vibrant shopping, dining, and nightlife with back yard access to year round, heart-pounding outdoor recreation and the majestic beauty of the Wasatch Mountain Range.

A Community Theater

Our performance series events reflect the wide range of interests within the surrounding community.  While it has expanded beyond its movie palace beginnings, Peery’s Egyptian Theater certainly has not forgotten its roots. Along with being a Sundance Film Festival venue, the theater hosts periodic multi-feature events that celebrate a chosen genre.
